Easter Decorating Habits Revealed: New Data Shows How Split Traditions Are

Spring is in the air, and Easter is just around the corner! But how exactly do people decorate their homes for the holiday? We recently asked this on our website via the Question of the Day (QOTD) to find out. The results give us a fascinating look into the holiday traditions of our members and Ipsos iSay website visitors.

These fun insights are also a great example of how your opinion matters in market research. If you want to share your thoughts and earn rewards by participating in online surveys, the Ipsos iSay community is the perfect place for you.

Easter Decorating Trends: What Our Members Say

Our recent question of the day about Easter decorations revealed a surprisingly even split. Exactly 50.1% of our responding Ipsos iSay website visitors shared that they do not decorate for the holiday at all.

But what about the remaining 49.9% who love to bring the festive spirit into their homes? We analyzed the responses of these decoration enthusiasts and found four distinct styles:

  • The Interior Traditionalist (35.5%): The largest group of decorators loves the classics. They stick to timeless pieces like painted eggs, subtle spring branches, and traditional bunny figures.
  • The Seasonal Minimalist (32.9%): Less is more! About a third of our decorators prefer a very subtle approach, perhaps setting out a single fresh bouquet or a few carefully placed pastel accents.
  • The DIY Creator (18.0%): Crafting is in! Nearly a fifth of our decorating members love to make their own holiday magic, whether it’s dying eggs with natural ingredients or building custom spring wreaths.
  • The All-Out Curator (13.6%): For this group, there is no such thing as too festive. From themed tablecloths to window decals, they transform their entire living space into a true Easter wonderland.

Social Media & Easter Eggs: More Community Insights

Our recent question of the day also explored other holiday habits. How do people react to elaborate DIY decorations on social media? The results show our community stays quite relaxed:

  • The Casual Observer (32.5%): Enjoys looking at the creativity but sticks to their own plans.
  • The Uninterested (24.7%): Sees the content, but it has zero impact on their holiday.
  • The Inspired (24.3%): Uses social media to get into a festive mood and find ideas.
  • Only 4.8% feel overwhelmed or pressured by online perfection.

When it comes to coloring eggs, the trends are just as clear. While half (50.2%) skip this tradition completely, 29.6% prefer a classic store-bought kit. Only 7.9% opt for eco-friendly, natural dyes.

Beyond Decorations: Celebrating Diverse Easter Traditions

While our decorating members clearly have their distinct styles, let’s not forget the 50.1% who choose to skip the seasonal decor altogether. For many members of the Ipsos iSay community, the spring holidays are less about transforming their living spaces and more about other cherished traditions. Whether it is hosting a big family dinner, enjoying a relaxing weekend, or simply taking a well-deserved break from the daily routine, there is no single right way to celebrate.

These fun insights from our Question of the Day highlight exactly what makes our community so vibrant. It shows that our members come from all walks of life with completely different habits, routines, and preferences. Whether you are an All-Out Curator surrounded by spring colors or someone who prefers a completely undecorated home, your unique everyday lifestyle is exactly what makes your perspective so important to us.

Every single voice helps build a clearer picture of what people truly care about today.
